BIRMINGHAM, England (AP) — Virat Kohli rescued India with a valiant 43 as England was set 130 to win the Champions Trophy in a rain-hit final that was shortened to 20 overs a side at Edgbaston on Sunday.

After the start of play was delayed for nearly six hours, Ravi Bopara's unassuming medium pace accounted for three wickets — including those of key batsmen Shikhar Dhawan (31) and MS Dhoni (0) — to help reduce the Indians to 67-5 after 14 overs.

Kohli ensured the target will at least be competitive, however, by hitting four fours and a huge six in his 34-ball knock, sharing a 47-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja (33 not out). India is looking to add the Champions Trophy to the World Cup it won in 2011. England is seeking its first 50-over ICC
